The Gift of Love

This layout was so fun to make. I don't do one page layouts with one picture very often. I almost used this picture from Christmas 2007 on another layout I was doing of my husband's family Christmas, but decided I wanted to use this picture of my in-laws to do a little tribute page for them. They are wonderful to me, and I love them dearly. There is journaling behind the photo (you can see the word Pull at the top of the picture frame).

Dad -- You're How Old?

This is the card I made for my Dad's birthday this week. I found these new embossing folders made by Sizzix and really like them. The only problem is that the words are close to the fold in the folder, so it makes it hard to cut them out in a shape other than a rectangle. Hope you like it.

It's Cool To Be 16

I made this card for my nephew, who is turning 16 this week. When he was born, I nicknamed him Spud. I only called him that when he was a baby, but I still think of him fondly as Spud. In his card, I wrote, "You used to be a little Spud, but now you're a big Tater." I'm sure he's going to think I'm so old and corny!

Don't Forget to Cover Your Butt!

I made this card for a co-worker who is having surgery on Wednesday for colon cancer. My aunt has cancer, and she commented to me this weekend that people don't think they can laugh with cancer patients, and that laughter makes her feel normal again. So, I decided to make a card to try to make my co-worker laugh. She seemed to really like it! I hope you like it too!

Memories

This is my Dad's Father's Day card. He is, and always will be, a hero to me. I guess that phrase "Daddy's Little Girl" still lives, even though I'm a grandma myself (a young one I might add). The inside says, "Of a Daddy who worked hard to provide for us . . . Of a Daddy who took us to church . . . Of a Daddy who loved us (and still does). I am thankful. Happy Father's Day!"

Holiday Magic

I have found little time to scrapbook lately. With eBay, and especially with cards for family and friends, no layouts have been done. I was happy to work on this one, although it took me a week because I wasn't happy with anything I did. As I told a friend, it's not my favorite layout I've ever done, but I like it better than I did two days ago when I was in the middle of working on it! Hope you like it.

Bathing Beauty

As you've probably noticed from the many cards I've made lately, I love pink and black together. Here's my latest eBay layout using those colors (and a little blue and yellow too).

Hope you like it!

Birthday Wishes

I made this card a couple of weeks ago for a co-worker. I just remembered that I hadn't posted it yet. I hope you like it.

If Friends Were Flowers . . .

This is my take on the flower pot card. When I first saw the flower pot cards on splitcoaststampers, I knew I'd make one for my neighbor's birthday, which was yesterday. I cut the pot from Walk in my Garden (Cricut cartridge ) twice (I used the flip feature on the second one). I put the two pots together with fairly thin small pop-up dots. Then I cut a piece of black cardstock and used a border punch on the bottom of it to make the rim of the pot. The flowers are two different sizes of the sunflower cut with the blackout feature on to make the flowers. I punched the small flower in the middle and put the little glitter dots on them. The leaves are from Home Accents (Cricut cartridge). The sentiment is computer generated and then punched with punches. The inside sentiment of course says, "I'd pick you. Happy Birthday Friend." The inside slips down between the two sides of the flower pot. The little butterflies are a punch.

Wedding Cake Card

A card for my husband's niece and her new husband -- her wedding colors were green and purple, so I tried to match those colors.

The Best Way Out . . .

I made this card for my sweet Aunt who is beginning radiation and chemotherapy treatments next week for stage 3 throat cancer. She is scared, of course, and I found this quote by Robert Frost that I thought might help her get through this. My prayer is that it will go by like the blink of an eye and be done! She has a wonderful attitude and lots of faith. That is a big plus for her! TFL.

Merry Memories

I did this layout over a week ago, but I'm just getting around to taking pictures of it. I'm really running out of ideas for Christmas. This layout seems too simple, but after staring at it for what seemed like an hour, I couldn't think of anything I wanted to add ot it!

So Glad You're Okay!

My new son-in-law's Mom had an episode last week with her heart and spent two nights in the hospital. Thank goodness it was nothing serious, and she will be okay. I made this card to send to her. I used the Nestabilities Label 4 dies -- I love them! And, I used a Spellbinders butterfly die too.

Happy Birthday to my Sister!

My sister celebrated her birthday earlier this week. I at first wanted to put a picture on the front of two little girls with their backs to the camera (I was going to search the internet for such a picture). Then I remembered that I have a few pictures of the two of us as little girls on my computer that I used for our parents' 50th anniversary. So, I printed one of those on cardstock and put it on the front of the card. She already received this and told me she loved it and was going to put it in a shadow box. That made me happy!
