A Birthday Card from Last Summer for a Dear Friend

I have neglected my blog for so long.  A few times lately I have wanted to post a card, but when it came down to finding a picture, cropping it, putting the watermark on, working on the colors, etc., I was just too lazy.  When I happened to run across this one on my computer, I really wanted to take the time to post it because it was made last summer for a dear friend, who has since passed away. How sad I was when I found it.  But I was happy to make it and give it to her.  She was a special lady to many of us, and I miss her to this day!  I worked with her for 25 years.  That's a long time folks!  I miss you Pat!

Cruisin' Into 76 Birthday Card

If you've visited my blog many times, you know how hard it is for me to do guy cards.  I mean, seriously, no flowers?  Ha!  I try really hard not to put flowers on all of my cards, and I doubt my father-in-law would love them nearly as much as I do.  Thus, he got a card with an old car on the front.  This card was made for his 76th birthday.  I bet you figured that out, didn't ya?  Here are the details:

Size:  4 1/2" x 6 1/2"
Card stock:  Core'dinations, DCWV
Patterned papers:  DCWV, Unknown
Car/Cruisin': Nifty Fifties Cricut cartridge cut at 1 3/4" (I cut the car in black and then in red so the tires would be black.)
Postage stamp background:  Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge cut at 5"
Star:  George Cricut cartridge cut at 1 3/4"
76:  George Cricut cartridge cut at 1"
Little stars:  Punch
"Into":  Computer generated and punched with a Stampin' Up punch
I also used an EK Success border punch behind the postage stamp label, along with a strip of red and a strip of blue paper.

I hope my father-in-law likes it, and I hope you like it too!  Thanks for your comments.  Be inspired!

Antique Birthday Card

Today I am sharing a fun birthday card I made for my brother-in-law.  He manages an oil and gas distribution company and loves anything related to old gas pumps, so when I found this die cut image, I knew it was perfect for his card.  I am playing along with this week's challenge #198 over at Mojo Monday.  I loved this sketch!  Here are the details:

Size:  A2
Card Stock:  Bazzill, Coredinations, American Crafts
Patterned Papers:  My Minds Eye and Dots; DCWV Stripes and Plaids Stack
Gas Pump:  Nifty Fifties Cricut cartridge cut at 3 3/4".  I printed the word "GAS" from  my computer, punched it out with a small circle punch and put it on that way because it would have been almost impossible to get the word cut out on my Cricut.  It would have been 1/4" tall.
Star:  George Cricut cartridge cut at 1 3/4"
Bangle Chain:  EK Success border punch
Stitching: Done with a Pen
Gems:  Glitter Dots

Thanks for your comments!
