Happy Memorial Day to my U. S. friends! I am sharing with you today my sister's simple yet sweet birthday card from earlier in May. Details are as follows:
Card shape: Create-a-Critter Cricut cartridge cut at 4". I cut two, one regular cut, and one using the flip feature on my Expression. I scored the back piece at the top and glued them together. That is easier for me than going into Craft Room or Design Studio and welding, then having to take the computer upstairs to my craft room and hooking it up. I still had plenty of room to add a sentiment to the inside.
Bird: Stampin' Up Punch
Branches; Martha Stewart punch
Sentiment: Computer generated and punched using a Stampin' Up punch
Bow: I purchased at AC Moore in a package and added a small Recollections rose

Hike More Birthday Card
Hello blogging friends. Today I am sharing with you the birthday card I made for my boss last month. I am just now getting around to posting it. I am in love with the Campin' Critters cartridge for guy cards. I struggle with them so much. My boss really likes to hike, so I came up with this little moose to use on his card. Here are the details:
Card shape: This was cut using the sign feature on the Campin' Critters Cricut cartridge on page 63 of the handbook at 5 1/4". I think I cut the striped front 1/4" inch smaller as I recall to give it more of a shadowed layer look.
Hiking Moose: Campin' Critters Cricut cartridge cut at 3 1/4" (page 28 of the handbook)
Oval: Campin' Critters Cricut cartridge cut at 3 1/4" (page 36 of the handbook) (I think this is where I got the oval. For some reason I didn't write it down -- just the size I cut it. Any oval would do.)
Stars: Punches
Sentiment: Computer generated and punched
I also used the EKSuccess Dotted Wave edge punch on the front.
Hope you like it! As always, thanks for your comments.

Love You To The Core
It's Friday again, and time for another die cut challenge over at Stuck On U Sketches. Today, our challenge is all about fruit. I debated on doing a birthday card with peaches saying, "Hope your birthday is just peachy," or maybe a card with bananas saying, "Go bananas on your birthday!" But, in the end, I decided to use this sweet picture of our granddaughter and my hubby together with a title "Love You To The Core." I really like how it turned out, and it was so fun to do a layout instead of a card. Here are the details:
Card Stock: American Crafts, Core'dinations; Bazzill
Patterned paper: Unknown
Tag: Don Juan Cricut cartridge cut at 4"
Love & Core: Don Juan Cricut cartridge cut at 1 1/2"
U: Don Juan Cricut cartridge cut at 2"
To & The: Don Juan Cricut cartridge cut at 1 1/4"
Hearts: Don Juan Cricut cartridge cut at 1 1/2", 2" and 2 1/2"
Flourish: Don Juan Cricut cartridge cut at 1 1/2"
Apples: Country Life Cricut cartridge cut at 4 1/2"
Flowers: EKSuccess large retro flower punch; Buttons: American Crafts
Leaves: Spellbinders die
The white banner like border and wavy border are Bazzill "Just The Edge."
I used Sketch #71 over at Sketchabilities for the sketch. It was a very cool sketch to work with for my embellishments.
I hope you like it. Thanks for your comments, and come join us for the "fruit" challenge!

Happy Mother's Day
I decided that I should go ahead and post this card because there may be someone looking for a last bit of inspiration for a Mother's Day card. Of course, I am assuming you find inspiration here. :o) I got the idea for this double Z fold card from Glenda. You can find the post here. Her card was so pretty that I really wanted to try it myself. I like how it turned out. It will be my mother-in-law's card.
Here are the details:
Size: 4" x 5 1/4" (5 1/4" x 12" -- scored at 2, 4, 8, and 10")
Card stock: American Crafts; Bazzill
Embossing: Cuttlebug Divine Swirls folder
Band around card: 1 3/4" wide x 9 1/2" wide
Flower: The die cut flower is cut using the Martha Stewart Birthday Cake Art cartridge at 2 1/4" (page 40 of the handbook); Mini rose is Recollections
Scalloped oval: Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge cut at 3 1/2" (page 50 of the handbook)
Happy Mother's Day (inside): Mother's Day Solutions cartridge cut at 2 3/4"
"We Love You" sentiment: Computer generated and punched using a Paper Shapers punch
Hope you like it. Thanks for those kind comments you leave. Be inspired!

Just A Note (for Mom)
Is it Friday already? It sure is! And I don't know about you, but I love Fridays, especially Fridays that we have a great reveal over at Stuck On U Sketches. This week we were to create a project using die cuts that showcase the theme "in celebration of mothers." At first glance, you might have a hard time believing that is what my creation does, but this will be my Mom's card for Mother's Day. She always wanted to play a piano, and I know this will mean a lot to her. The inside sentiment says, "to say I love you very much and pray you have a wonderful Mother's Day." I hope you'll join us for this challenge! Here are the details of the card:
Size: Approx. 3 3/4" x 5 1/4"
Card shape: Life's A Party Cricut cartridge (I love the cards on this cartridge.) As soon as I saw this shape, I thought of a grand piano. I ended up cutting the size of the card just a little after it was cut in order for it to work with the size of the keys.
Piano keys: George Cricut cartridge -- 2" for the white keys; 1 1/2" for the black keys (popped with foam tape)
Flowers: The large flower was cut using the Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge at 4"; the three smaller flowers are Recollections flowers.
Yellow border: Fiskars border punch
Sentiment: Computer generated and punched using the Stampin' Up Word Window punch
I hope you like this card. I really like how it turned out! Be inspired!
