This is my daughter's boyfriend's birthday card. It started off going to be the dog with the bird and say, "Everything's Pointing to a Happy Birthday." Then I thought my daughter had done a card with a dog on it, so I decided I should do something different. So, it evolved into a card with a pocket on the front and saying, "A pocketful of birthday wishes." Then I found out, in the middle of making the card, that my daughter's card only had a little birthday dog on it, totally different than what I thought, so I changed it yet again and put the dog with the bird on it and decided on "Yappy Bird Day." I don't love the card (maybe it's those camoflauge colors), or maybe it's the font -- not sure. But, it's growing on me. Hope you like it. :o)

Birthday Card for Mom

Elmo Says . . .
Today is my granddaughter's 2nd birthday party. It is an Elmo party, and I wanted to make her an Elmo card, so this is what I came up with. It is patterned after the invitation to her party, so that's why I used the color blocks. I think it turned out cute, except for the mouth. I cut about 10 different things to make it look like Elmo's mouth, but nothing really worked. The inside of the card of course says "Happy Birthday."

Happy Birthday Whitley!
A former co-worker, who is a sweet, sweet lady, is celebrating her birthday this week, so here's the card I came up with for her. She and I worked side by side for about 8 years, and you couldn't find a sweeter person to work with. She and I always said we were alike because we both cried at the drop of a hat. She finally retired when she was having kidney problems, and ended up having a transplant. She is now living a wonderful retired life, with a few bumps along the way (she recently fell and broke her arm). I still miss working with her! I hope she likes her card.

Ashlyn is 2
Wow! It is almost impossible for me to believe that our precious angel is 2 years old today. I still remember like yesterday standing in the hallway outside her Mom's room, waiting for her to be born, and hearing that first cry. Such a sweet sound it was, and her voice saying, "Hey Mimi!" is just as sweet today. She is talking up a storm! We got to spend the entire week with her last week at the beach, and oh what fun we had. It was a blessing to have her and both of my girls (and Joey and Jordan) with us.
Here is the card I made today for Ashlyn's birthday. She seemed to like it and when she got ready to put it up, she said, "Bye bye bear!"

Now THAT'S a Fish
I did this layout of my daughter and her boyfriend holding the 26 lb. catfish she caught earlier this year. She sure was proud of that fish! And so was my Dad. I emailed the picture of her holding the fish to him, and he has printed it out and showed it to everyone. Now he says he's coming for a visit to go fishing with her. Oh, how I would love to see him catch a fish this big. You wouldn't be able to wipe the grin from his face!

Celebrating a Homecoming in Heaven
I made this card for my sweet neighbor, whose aunt passed away this week. This card is a little odd for a sympathy card, but I think it is appropriate because they had a celebration of the aunt's life after her funeral and released balloons at the cemetery. They are looking at it as a celebration because she was always celebrating life and is now celebrating in heaven. She was buried on her birthday as well, so I think this card is just perfect. I hope you like it as well. Double click to see it better.
A cardmaking fiend!
That's what I feel like lately! I've been making cards all week. Let's see, since the weekend, I've made 4 birthday cards, 1 sympathy card, 1 anniversary card, and 2 get well cards. That's a lot for me, considering that I work a full-time job. Been burnin' the midnight oil for sure. I feel like it's catching up with me too. I'm posting several of these cards in this post:
Feel Better Card
I made this card for a co-worker who just had back surgery. I had purchased these Cuttlebug folders and just had to use them. I love them and think they make great cards. I used a brown flower because there's a square of brown on the background paper, and then I covered it up! The papers are from Close to my Heart. Such pretty papers! I hope you like it.

A Mother and Daughter
A first for me -- a one page layout that isn't a title page for a book. I didn't really have enough photos to make a two page layout, so here is what I came up with. I'll have a fish page opposite this one. Wonder how that's gonna work! I know -- most people don't care what pages are opposite each other, but I've always done two pagers! These pictures were taken on Mother's Day, except for the one in the upper right corner, and it is 4 years old. But, I didn't want it to seem like I only have one daughter!

Happy Birthday
My youngest daughter turned 21 this week, and I made this card for her. She really likes purple, and I think she likes the style of this card. I'm still finding it hard to believe that she's 21! She's a blessing for sure, as are both of my girls. I love them sooooo much. They'll always be my babies.

Happy Birthday My Friend
I made this card for a friend on a MB. She lives clear across the country, but we chat every day, and we've even talked by phone a few times. I call myself her long distance friend. Her birthday is coming up this weekend, and I wanted to make something to send to her. She got it in the mail today, so I can finally post it.
Not a Baby Anymore
My granddaughter will be two this month. Oh my goodness. That is so hard for me to believe. I did this page as the title page for her next album (her 4th in less than two years). The title for the page has a touch of sadness because she really isn't a baby anymore. She is talking up a storm and so much fun.
