Engagement Photo Shoot

What fun I had doing this layout.  When I saw sketch no. 9 over at Sketch Support I fell in love!  I think it was the wavy line that drew me in.  I love that kind of thing.  I, of course, made it my own by using three photos, but really like the end result!

Here are the details:

Card stock:  The Paper Studio and Bazzill
Patterned Paper: K and Company "Hopscotch" pad
Title:  Engagement -- Computer generated and punched with a Paper Shapers Stampin' Up punch; Photo - Plantin Schoolbook Cricut font -- roly poly feature; Shoot -- Cuttlebug Cursive font (so glad I have these fonts -- wouldn't give them up for anything)
Wavy line: Bo Bunny ruler and then cut by hand and then added some rickrack
Tree:  Straight from the Nest Cricut cartridge cut at 5".  I added the hearts, since this is, after all, about love.  :o)
Grass:  Zooballoo Cricut cartridge cut at 1 1/4"
Flowers:  Punches
Scalloped circle border:  EK Success border punch and then added pearls, using Beads in a Bottle

Here is the awesome sketch:

And here is my take on it!

Thanks for looking, and I hope you like it.  And thanks in advance for taking the time to comment.

Senorita

I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again.  I love sketches.  And Allison Davis' sketches over at Sketch Support are some of my favorite two page sketches.  I did this layout a week or so ago, but have had such a tough time getting pictures of it.  If anyone can help me figure out how to get the angle right on my layouts so that they really are a true square (for one pagers) or rectangle (for two pagers) when I get ready to crop them, I'd love you forever.  :o)

This layout is from my daughter's birthday in 2008.  Yikes!  I keep getting further and further behind in my scrapbooking.  But I love making cards, so I suppose it's all good.  Someday I'll actually start on an album for my grandson, who is already 17 months old!  This was my daughter's last birthday at home before she got married, and we celebrated at a local Mexican restaurant.  You know the drill -- sombrero on your head, singing away while they either beat you on the head or move your head back and forth.  So, I used a bit of Mexican flair for the title to my layout.  Thanks to a co-worker (thanks Harriet), I found the sombrero on one of my Cricut cartridges, and added it this weekend.  Here's how the layout was made:

Cardstock:  Bazzill
Patterned paper:  DCWV Cotton Blossom Stack (I love these papers.)
Fonts:  Happy Birthday - Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge (I put hearts over the little faces, since they didn't really cut well so small); Senorita - Wrexham Script (The accent mark -- I hope it's correct -- was cut by cutting an "s" using the Storybook Cricut font at 1/2" and doing a little trimming)
Sombrero:  Graphically Speaking
Scalloped circle: Nestabilities (I took the scalloped circle and a smaller Nestabilities circle and made the frame I used on my daughter's picture on the right page)
Doily punch:  Martha Stewart
Gems:  Unknown
Black and Orange strips:  Bazzill Just the Edge and Paper Frills

And here is my layout:

Sorry about the AWFUL glare from the flash.  I have taken 30 pictures of this layout.  This one with the flash might be the best for the colors, but the glare stinks!  I will try again when there is actually sunshine!

Thanks for looking, and for your sweet words that make my day!

Party Time!

What a fun scrapbooking weekend I have had.  My neighbor came over on Saturday afternoon, and we scrapbooked together for several hours.  And to top it all off, I did a two page layout of my granddaughter's birthday.  Woo hoo!

As I think I've already said, I just love Allison Davis' sketches.  They are such great two page sketches.  I love how she can take one sketch and make it look so different!  So, I had fun with this layout.  I thought it was finished last night, but I knew it needed something else.  Then it hit me today, I could add a banner to the corner!  So, that's what I did, and now I feel like it is finished.

Here are the details of the layout:

Cardstock:  Bazzill; DCWV
Patterned Papers:  My Mind's Eye
Party Time & Party Hat:  Cuttin' Up Cricut cartridge (wow, I hadn't used that cartridge in such a long time)
Make A Wish and Yummy:  K and Company
So Fun, Bear & Balloon:  Create A Critter Cricut cartridge
Large rose:  Prima
Small roses:  Recollections & I Am Roses
Flourishes:  Sizzlit
Scalloped Circle behind bear:  Nestabilities
Banner:  Country Life Cricut cartridge
Pink flower:  Punch
Gems/Pearls:  Unknown

Here is the sketch:
