Friends Are Like Stars . . .

This card was made for my long distance friend Lynn.  We met on a scrapbooking message board three years ago, and although we've never met, she is my friend!  So, this sentiment was perfect for her card:  "Friends are like stars . . . you don't always see them, but you know they are there."

Still In Love

I made this card for my parents for their 54th wedding anniversary.  It started out being an all white card, but ended up with the pink accents.

* Sentiment was printed on the computer and then used punches for layering.
* Heart with couple, scalloped heart, and bow -- Sweethearts Cricut cartridge
* Border -- Martha Stewart punch
* Heart on inside of card -- Martha Stewart punch, layered on top of the scalloped heart from the Sweethearts cartridge (cut it at 1 3/4")

Happy Birthday Old Friend

This is a simple card that I made last night.  I was in a hurry to get this card done and in the mail today to an old friend.  She is a dear friend that I've known since high school.  We graduated over 30 years ago.  We both moved to another state, and now we live 30 minutes from each other.  We see each other about once every 5 years.  How sad is that!  Anyway, this is her card.  I made a copy of the two pages she wrote in my yearbook during our senior year and put them in her card.  I thought she'd get a kick out of reading it all of these years later. 

The scalloped ovals on the front are all punches.  I love my punches!  Quick and easy.
The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.
I used my Cuttlebug to enboss one of the layers.

The inside says, "From one "OLD" friend to another."

Just Chillin'

I stayed home all day yesterday and found a few hours to spend in my scrapbook room.  Yippee!  I used this week's sketch over at stuckonusketches for this layout.  As always, it was fun to have a sketch to use, and makes it so much easier.  Check out the sketch here.

 And here is my interpretation!  These photos were taken on our trip to Daytona Beach, Florida in 2008.  I think I have 2 or 3 more layouts from that trip, and then I can move on to the next event, which may be another beach trip, but this one to Myrtle Beach.

These papers are so pretty!  They were given to me for my birthday from my friend Lynn. Thank you Lynn! They are K & Co. Papers, which is one of my favorite companies.  The glittery flourishes are Making Memories chipboard pieces.  The wavy lines were cut with my Creative Memories cutter.  The flip flops are from the Life is a Beach Cricut cartridge; the word "just" was cut using the Cuttlebug typewriter font (I think that's the name); the word "chillin'" was cut using the Paisley Cricut cartridge; and the tag behind the title was cut using the Storybook Cricut cartridge.

Two New Baby Cards

On Your Birthday . . .

Good Saturday morning.  This is the card I made and gave to our daughter last night when we went out to celebrate her birthday.  The card posted earlier this week was from me to her, and this one was from her Dad and me.  I used some Prima flowers given to me as a birthday gift from my sweet neighbor on this card, as well as some leaves/flourishes from the Cricut Storybook cartridge (that I embossed using the Swiss Dots folder and my Cuttlebug).  The scalloped octagons are Nestabilities dies, with a circle from the Cricut George cartridge between them for some extra color.

The inside says:  "we're wishing you something you've always given us . . . Happiness. Happy Birthday. We love you."

A Daughter is a Little Girl . . .

Today is my oldest daughter's birthday.  She and I are very close (as I am with my other daughter as well -- what a blessing!)  So, I decided to make a card for her just from me (as opposed to from me and her Dad, which I will make and give to her this weekend). 

I used my Cuttlebug for the flowers and a Martha Stewart punch for the hearts.  The inside of the card says, "who grows up to be your friend.  Happy Birthday to a very special friend."

Our Very Own Forrest Gump

I didn't get a chance to try last week's sketch, so I decided to make time today to try another fun sketch over at the Stuck On U Sketches blog. Click here to go there.  One thing we were supposed to do is use some kind of bling on the page.  You can't really see it, but the stars are glittery, and the white round glitter dots are just that -- glittery! 

I had this picture of my son-in-law from our trip to Daytona Beach, Florida in 2008. I knew the picture would be perfect for the sketch. I found the picture of Forrest Gump on the internet and thought it complimented the layout and the picture of my son-in-law.
