A Special Blend of Birthday Wishes

Hello blogger friends.  I am sharing with you today a card I recently made for a sweet co-worker's birthday.  She loves coffee, and although this is technically a tea cup, it still worked for her card.  Here are the details:

Card:  Life's a Party Cricut cartridge cut at 5 1/4" (page 29 of the handbook)
Circle:  George Cricut cartridge cut at 4 1/4" with shadow
Cup:  Wall Decor & More Cricut cartridge cut at 4" (page 30 of handbook)
Flowers:  I have had these for so long, but I believe the manufacturer was Petaloo.
Sentiment:  Computer generated and punched using the Stampin' Up word window punch

I am submitting it for Challenge #44 over at Card Makin Mamas.  It's a cool photo challenge!

Hope you like it, and as always, thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment.

Be inspired!

Let Your Light Shine Sympathy Card

Happy Friday everyone!  I have the first of several sympathy cards to share with you today.  I made this one for my son-in-law's mother and brother after the loss of his Dad.  It really was one of the hardest cards I've ever had to make.  But, it didn't take long to decide that a lighthouse was perfect for this one because the Bible verse on the front really reminded me of how my son-in-law's Dad lived his life.  He was such a wonderful man!  It's so sad that in the end, he was so depressed, he just couldn't seem to see any hope.  But, I digress.  Here's how the card was made:

Size:  4 1/2" x 6 1/2"
Card Stock:  Bazzill, American Crafts
Patterned Papers:  DCWV (Dots, Stripes and Plaids Stack)
Lighthouse:  Wall Decor Cricut cartridge cut at 4"
Background Label:  Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge cut at 4 1/4" (I think) and then embossed using the Swiss Dots folder in my Cuttlebug
Butterflies:  Martha Stewart punch
Daisy border punch:  Martha Stewart
Blue chain border:  Martha Stewart Double Edge Bangle Chain punch
Pearls:  Queen & Co.
Sentiment:  Computer generated using Tabitha font and then cut with a Nestabilities Die

Hope you like it.  I was very pleased with the end result.  I love these colors together.  Click on the photo for a better look.

Warm Wishes -- Father's Day Card

I'm so far behind on showing cards.  This is my father-in-law's Father's Day card.  I was stumped on what kind of card to make for him this year.  He doesn't have a lot of hobbies other than playing a guitar, and I have made so many cards with guitars on them that I decided to back away from the guitars.  :o)  So, I instead went with a cup of coffee, which is something he also enjoys.  The colors on this card are also unusual, but in the end, I liked the combo.  Here are the details as I remember them (since it's been at least 3 weeks since I made this card):

Size:  4 1/2" x 6 1/2"
Card Stock:  Bazzill, American Crafts and DCWV
Patterned Papers:  DCWV (Dots, Stripes and Plaids Stack)
Coffee Cup:  Wall Decor Cricut cartridge cut at 3"
Background Label:  Nestabilities and then embossed with my Cuttlebug
Parenthesis:  Dots, Stripes and Plaids chipboard set
Sentiment:  Computer generated and then cut with a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Doily Accents die  I added a little Stickles around the outside edge.
Stars:  George Cricut cartridge for the two larger stars and a McGill punch for the small star.  I embossed the largest star with my Cuttlebug.
Border Punch:  Fiskars
Gems:  Unknown

If you click on the picture, you really do get a better look at the card.

Thanks for looking and for your comments.  Happy Wednesday!
