ROCK ON -- Joey's Birthday Card

My wonderful son-in-law turned 29 this week. This is the card I made for him. He loves to play guitar (mostly in church), so I couldn't wait to use this guitar for his card! Hope you like it!

Season of Love

I wanted to do a Valentine layout for eBay, and for some reason the white tree popped into my mind. So, I was then on a mission to find a title to go with the tree. I think Season of Love fits this pretty well! I love the bright colors on this layout. Now I just hope it sells!

TFL (and wish me luck).

P.S. Someone asked where the birds came from -- they can be found on the Happily Ever After cartridge.

Santa Stopped Here

This layout is from Christmas Day 2007. It's amazing how much Ashlyn has changed since then!

Hope you like it!

In Loving Memory

Since I recently felt the pain of losing a loved one, my grandma who passed away in November, I decided to do these pages in her honor. Hope you like them.

Mom's Reminder Calendar

I made this calendar with chipboard covers for my Mom for Christmas. She can never remember when our birthdays are, so now she has a calendar with everyone's birthdays on it, our anniversaries, a place to write appointments, a Bible verse, and on the flip side, a picture each month of my sweet granddaughter (her only great grandchild). Here is a picture of the cover, one of the photos, and one month (we have no birthdays or anniversaries in December), just to give you an idea of what the calendar looked like. I was really in a hurry to get it finished, so it was pretty plain.

Building a Dream

My soon-to-be son-in-law is a general contractor. He built a new home this year. It was obvious from the beginning that although he had not popped the question, he was planning to ask our daughter to marry him. She helped him pick out carpet, paint, countertops, and pretty much everything else. Within 2 weeks after he closed on the house and moved in, he gave her an engagement ring. We knew it was coming! I did this layout to showcase the pictures of his house in progress.

Baking Memories

These pictures were taken last year of my daughters and granddaughter making sugar cookies. They love making them, although we rarely ever eat them. By the time they handle the dough for 10 minutes, the cookies usually end up being hard. But the fun is still there, so we still make them.

My First Card from the 2 Sketches 4 You Site!

Although I've looked at Laura & Kazan's sketch site several times (see blog here), I've never tried to do a card from one of their fantastic sketches. I decided I wanted to try this one. Here's the sketch --

Here's a birthday card I came up with using the sketch -- it has so much more dimension than the photo shows! I even tried to take pictures to show the dimension, but they really weren't a good comparison to the real thing!

This was so much fun!

Get Well Card for Mom

I made this get well card for my Mom, who has been in the hospital since Wednesday. She appreciates handmade cards. When she found out that I was making cards a couple of years ago, she went through all of her craft stuff and gave me lots of buttons, etc. She gave me the gold accent piece that is on the front of the card, so I thought it was appropriate to use it on her card.

Our Tree-mendous Little Helper

I've been wanting to make a layout with black and white photos for a while. I'm not sure I love this, but it's okay. It really does look better in person. These pictures are of our granddaughter helping to decorate the tree last year.

Harriet's Belated Birthday Card

I made this card for my co-worker who celebrated her birthday on the 15th. She was out of town until the 18th, and of course then I was out of town for my grandma's funeral. So, I finally got her card made and changed the sentiment to match my tardiness in getting it to her. The inside says, "are just so flaky!" She loves snowmen, so I knew I wanted a snowman theme to her card.

Until I see you in heaven Mammaw . . .

My last living grandparent passed away on the 16th at the age of 92. Her health had really been declining for the past few years, and she spent most of her days in bed. She had 24 hour care, between two ladies who came to stay with her during the day, and my uncle and his wife who moved in with her and of course were there with her at night. She was a sweet lady, and lots of family members said that I looked like her mother. We have video from 20 years ago of her prancing into the kitchen at Christmas toward the camera and saying, "Here I am! Here I am! Here I am!" The first thing my daughter said when I told her that she had passed away was, "I bet Mammaw went up to the pearly gates and said, "Here I am! Here I am! Here I am!" It sure made me smile. The last few times I had visited her, I would walk out of her house and cry because I was afraid it was the last time I would see her. I will miss visiting her so much, but I know my grandpa was happy to see her in heaven. What a reunion that must have been. I love you Mammaw!

Snowmen are so flaky!

I started out making a snowman, and he/she ended up on this card. I've decided I love snowmen!

Call if You "Knee'd" Me!

A friend had surgery this week on her knee. I wanted to make her a card, and this was the only sentiment that kept coming to me. I hope she sees the humor in it.
I hated the colors on this card but was determined to use these papers. It's just "okay." :o)
