You Bring Us So Much Joy

I had these pictures of me with Ashlyn and when I thought of the title, I just had to add the pictures of Rick with her. She brings us SO much joy. I never dreamed how much I could love her.

Happy Fall

This card was totally an experiment. I was testing my sewing skills or trying to make them a little better. I messed the top of the card up, thus the half circle. I do like the colors of the card and the Stickles really adds something. The words are chipboard stickers. Flowers by Prima and Bazzill.

Sweet Treats

My latest layout is of Ashlyn eating ice cream -- or rather mostly the cones -- at the beach earlie this year. She didn't really get interested until you got down to the cone. Of course she could have whatever she wanted!

Side by Side

I love these pictures of Rick and Ashlyn together. I love pictures like this in general, but I think these show so well the bond between the two of them. And I am not much of a stamp person, but these Autumn Leave stamps (both the flourish and journaling stamp were in a package at Target for $1.99) were too tempting to pass up. Such a great deal. And I love how they look on this layout. People have been fussing at me for never putting my handwriting on my layouts, so now I feel like I can because I have lines to write on -- no more downhill writing! LOL.

Cuttlekids Cards

These new Cuttlekids dies are just so darn cute. I couldn't wait to try them. Here are cards I made with the Cuttlekid pig, lamb, and Fairy alphabet. I just love them!

With Sympathy

I just found out yesterday that a special someone from a messageboard I visit passed away. It made me very sad, and I decided to make this sympathy card to send to her family.

Stuck on Sticks

That's Ashlyn for you -- she loves sticks! So, I created this layout with just a few of the many pictures of her carrying a stick in her hand. She will carry a stick around and look for another, better stick at the same time. Sometimes we have to force her to lay down a stick because it is too big or too dangerous. But isn't she so cute!!! You can see the picture better if you click on it.

Yappy Bird Day

This is my daughter's boyfriend's birthday card. It started off going to be the dog with the bird and say, "Everything's Pointing to a Happy Birthday." Then I thought my daughter had done a card with a dog on it, so I decided I should do something different. So, it evolved into a card with a pocket on the front and saying, "A pocketful of birthday wishes." Then I found out, in the middle of making the card, that my daughter's card only had a little birthday dog on it, totally different than what I thought, so I changed it yet again and put the dog with the bird on it and decided on "Yappy Bird Day." I don't love the card (maybe it's those camoflauge colors), or maybe it's the font -- not sure. But, it's growing on me. Hope you like it. :o)

Birthday Card for Mom

This is a quick card I made for my Mom's birthday, which is coming up this week.

I just love the little Cuttlebug embossing folders. I find myself using them all of the time for cards.

Elmo Says . . .

Today is my granddaughter's 2nd birthday party. It is an Elmo party, and I wanted to make her an Elmo card, so this is what I came up with. It is patterned after the invitation to her party, so that's why I used the color blocks. I think it turned out cute, except for the mouth. I cut about 10 different things to make it look like Elmo's mouth, but nothing really worked. The inside of the card of course says "Happy Birthday."

It's a Hat Thing

My granddaughter loves hats of any kind, and if she can't find a real one, she'll make one out of a coffee filter! Could she be any cuter???

Have a Fintastic Birthday

I made this card for my awesome brother-in-law, who will be celebrating his birthday this weekend. I know I've said this so many times before, but cards for guys are so hard! No flowers or elegant looking things. So, I try to come up with cute things that the guys might like.

Happy Birthday Whitley!

A former co-worker, who is a sweet, sweet lady, is celebrating her birthday this week, so here's the card I came up with for her. She and I worked side by side for about 8 years, and you couldn't find a sweeter person to work with. She and I always said we were alike because we both cried at the drop of a hat. She finally retired when she was having kidney problems, and ended up having a transplant. She is now living a wonderful retired life, with a few bumps along the way (she recently fell and broke her arm). I still miss working with her! I hope she likes her card.

Ashlyn is 2

Wow! It is almost impossible for me to believe that our precious angel is 2 years old today. I still remember like yesterday standing in the hallway outside her Mom's room, waiting for her to be born, and hearing that first cry. Such a sweet sound it was, and her voice saying, "Hey Mimi!" is just as sweet today. She is talking up a storm! We got to spend the entire week with her last week at the beach, and oh what fun we had. It was a blessing to have her and both of my girls (and Joey and Jordan) with us.

Here is the card I made today for Ashlyn's birthday. She seemed to like it and when she got ready to put it up, she said, "Bye bye bear!"

Now THAT'S a Fish

I did this layout of my daughter and her boyfriend holding the 26 lb. catfish she caught earlier this year. She sure was proud of that fish! And so was my Dad. I emailed the picture of her holding the fish to him, and he has printed it out and showed it to everyone. Now he says he's coming for a visit to go fishing with her. Oh, how I would love to see him catch a fish this big. You wouldn't be able to wipe the grin from his face!
