It was so fun to scrapbook today. This is a layout I've had on my table for a couple of weeks, but have only worked on it a little at a time. Since Christmas is over, maybe now I'll have a little more time to get into the scrapbook room.
These were a bunch of random "couple" pictures I took last year when we went to Daytona Beach to celebrate Whitney's graduation. So, I decided to put them all together and gave it this title. Hope you like it!
If I make the picture any bigger, only half of it shows up. Therefore, double click on it to see a bigger version.

Merry Christmas!
If you stop by my blog today, please know that even though lots of you stop by, and don't leave comments, I appreciate the fact that you want to stop by. (And if you decide to leave a comment, that would make my day!)
I pray that God will bless you on this Christmas day. It is a special day to me, and I hope it is to you as well.

Want Some Christmas Candy?
On your birthday . . .

I made this card for one of my best friends for her birthday. She loves bright colors, so I made this one bright just for her. I love the Spellbinders Shapeabilities fleur de lis die, but it sure was hard to get it to cut and get it out of the die. Then I remembered reading somewhere that the secret was to use wax paper between your paper and the die. It worked like a charm!

Your Birthday is Something to Crow About

I made this birthday card for my cousin who is in prison. (He's never hurt anyone. He is in there because he's struggled with drug addiction since he was a teenager -- kept getting caught, violating probation, etc., and the Judge ended up sending him to prison for 12 years -- toooooooo long!!!). I haven't seen him in years, but after he was sent to prison, I felt the need to reconnect with him. I'm so glad I did. He seems thrilled to have someone care about him and take the time to write a letter. And I have sent him pictures of our grandparents that he says he treasures. He and I have been writing back and forth for the past few years. His letters are amazing. And he truly hopes that when he gets out in 3 years, he will be able to repay his family for the heartache he's put them through. I pray he will be able to avoid the temptations of drugs again! I HATE drugs!!!
Anyway, I cannot put a brad or anything hard on the cards I make for him, or the prison will reject them. And, the card can't weigh over an ounce, or they will reject it. After finishing this card last night, I realized it is square, which will add extra postage, and I'm afraid they won't let him have it! Duh! Why didn't I think of that? So, shortly after taking this picture, I cut it down in size and made it sort of like a postcard and put white cardstock on the back and wrote his message on there. I'll remember "no square cards" the next time!

Cherished Memories

This is a layout I made for eBay with cuts from the "A Child's Year" cartridge. I love how the colors turned out! Wish me luck with this one!

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope each of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, full of good food and fun times with family and friends. Take the time today to reflect on God's blessings in your life. You'll be glad you did. And, make sure that you tell someone today how grateful you are to have them in your life.
Here is a quote I found that I wanted to share.
Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses;
Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends instead of your foes;
Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your fears;
Count your full years instead of your lean;
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean;
Count your health instead of your wealth;
Count on God instead of yourself.

Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Card

This is a quick card I made for my cousin and his new wife. Well, I guess she isn't so new. They got married in July! I'm so bad! I purchased a gift card for them in August, and I just got around to making a card to send to them. And I did this one quickly. Between work, grandbabies, and life in general, I don't get as much time to make things as I'd like. I'm not complaining though -- work pays the bills, the grandbabies are precious, and life in general is great! I enjoy the few hours I can manage to get in my scrapbook room.

Forever Young Birthday Card

This is a birthday card that I made over the weekend for a sweet co-worker. I think the sentiment really describes her. She has lots of nieces and nephews, and loves them all so much. I think they help keep her young! And of course having such a "young" friend like me doesn't hurt! LOL.
Hope you like her card! TFL.
Hey Neighbor Birthday Card

This was the card I made for my neighbor's birthday, the 15 year old that helped me with my blog header. He is always so sweet to help take care of our beagle, Lexi, when we go out of town, so I thought he'd like a card from her. Of course, he loves computers too, so I incorporated the two into his card. The inside said, "Wanna share some cake?"
Hope you like it!

My New Header
Isn't my new header great??? My 15 year old neighbor (yep, you heard it, 15) made it for me! And he just turned 15 on Monday. Kids these days are so computer savvy!
Thank you Adam from the bottom of my heart!

Worth It All!

I did this layout several weeks ago, but just realized that I didn't post it here. It precedes my layout entitled "A Cause for Celebration." This is the awards ceremony from Whitney's dental hygiene program. The girls had all taken their State Boards but had not gotten their grades yet. The teachers unrolled a banner that read, "You All Passed Boards." There was hardly a dry eye in the room, including mine. Whitney was so relieved because the whole program had been so hard, and the test was too! I was one proud Mom!
