A Card for Melissa

My dear friend Melissa celebrated her birthday yesterday.  She loves bright colors and bling, so this card was made to honor her.  She is like a sister to me!  I am blessed to call her friend for sure.

This card was made for challenge no. 168 over at Mojo Monday.  What a cool sketch it was.  I love starting with a sketch!  And, I love challenges too.

Here is the sketch:

And this is what I came up with:

Card size:  5 1/4" x 5 1/4"
Scalloped card front:  DCWV
Cardstock:  American Crafts and Bazzill
Patterned Paper:  Making Memories (I think)
Ribbon:  From my stash
Embossing:  Cuttlebug (I sure wish you could see this better.  It says Happy Birthday, but you have to strain your eyes to see it!)
Scalloped squares:  Nestabilities
Flourish:  Making Memories
Flower:  Paisley Cricut cartridge (cut at 2 1/2", 2 1/4", 2", 1 3/4" with a punched doily (Martha Stewart) and a huge gem brad on top.  I also added some Stickles to the petals
Small gems:  From my stash -- unknown

Click on the photo for a better look.  And thanks as always for your comments.  I so appreciate them!

Here is another picture that shows the embossing a little better.
