Jordan's Crazy Birthday Card!

Okay, this birthday card is way out there, but I couldn't think of anything to put in Jordan's card. I really like to personalize my cards with something that the recipient likes. He loves to hunt, and particularly loves to duck hunt, so I decided after thinking about it for hours that this would work. I hope he likes it, or at least doesn't think it is stupid!

The inside says, "Stop worrying about that birthday cake and get to doing target practice! Hunting seasons's coming up soon! Happy Birthday!"

Encouragement Cards

A friend asked me to make two encouragement cards for her -- one to give a co-worker, who is trying to live a Christian life, and one for her daughter, who has started to attend church, after her Dad passed away in July. This is what I came up with. The first one is for the co-worker, and it has nothing on the inside, so that my friend can write a personal note.

The second one is for her daughter. On the inside left, I put, "Draw Near to God, and He Will Draw Near To You. James 4:8." I left the inside right blank so that she can write a personal note.

Mom's Birthday Verse Card

Although it doesn't look like a birthday card, it is! I wanted to put a Bible verse on my Mom's card and did a search via Google which brought me to this website:

It has a verse for every person's birthday, and since I thought this verse seemed appropriate for what my Mom foresees as the stressful things in her life, I used it!

Daughters are the Flowers of Life!

I posted this on eBay last week, but forgot to post it here. It already has a bid. Woo hoo! I'm happy with how it turned out. I love the dimension of the butterflies and flowers!

Happy Birthday Steve!

It seems that this is the month of birthdays and anniversaries for our family. Today is my sweet brother-in-law's birthday. I made this card and sent it to him. The inside says, "To a WISE guy."

Happy Birthday Ms. Whitley!

Well, today isn't actually her birthday, but this is the card I made for a friend's birthday. She's a precious lady that I adore. I worked beside her for years, and what a sweetheart! If you're a praying person, please say a prayer for her husband, Ray. I just heard that he had a stroke on Wednesday.

I used one of the new Cuttlebug embossing folders on this card, and I love it! I also used the Nestabilities scalloped oval dies and some Stampin' Up punches (ticket punch and photo corner punch).

Yes, David, here's another pink and green creation. I just love this color combo! (A co-worker always checks out my blog and made note of my many pink/green cards, so I just want him to know I'm thinking about him.)

Ashlyn's Big Day!

Three years ago today, I stood in the hallway of the hospital and waited patiently for a sweet baby girl to be born. When I heard that little cry, of course my heart melted, and I was instantly in love with that little person. She has brought us SO much joy, and I am so thankful to God for her every day.

This is the birthday card I made for my sweet little angel. I'll give this to her tonight at dinner, along with a couple of little gifts, and then I'll probably make another one for her birthday party in a few weeks.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHLYN! Mimi loves you so much!

An Anniversary Surprise

Last week I posted that it was our 30th wedding anniversary. I did not know that my two wonderful daughters were cooking up a little surprise for us! We went out to dinner and when we arrived home, they had gotten a little cake for us and had decorated the living room with flowers, candles, my wedding scrapbook, and our marriage license. It was so nice, and I thought I'd share a couple of photos from the evening.

Let's play a game Poppy!!

How about a friendly game of "elbow?"

Happy Anniversary to Us!

My husband and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary today. Where has the time gone? It still seems like yesterday that I told my Dad as we were walking down the aisle, "I don't know if I can do this." I truly thought I was whispering, but I wasn't. Everyone heard me! And I didn't mean that I didn't want to get married. I was scared to death to walk down that aisle in front of all of those people! I still remember how bad my knees were shaking.

What a blessing to be married to the same person for 30 years. Thank you Lord for my husband!

Happy Birthday Randy!

Today is our neighbor's birthday. He really likes to fish, although he doesn't get to very often. I thought he'd enjoy the "fun" aspect of this card. The inside says, "Early to bed, early to rise, go fishing all day, and then make up lies."

Happy Birthday Randy!

Our Angel in White

I absolutely love these photos of our granddaughter taken last fall at a wedding. She was barely 2 but did great as a flower girl. She truly looks like an angel in these pictures. I used the new Storybook and Graphically Speaking Cricut cartridges, as well as Base Camp and some punches too.

Over the Hill

I should have posted this card already, but just realized that I hadn't posted it yet. It's my husband's birthday card I made for him. His birthday was earlier this week. I thought he'd get a kick out of this. The inside says, "But honey, you still rev my engine!"

Bald is Beautiful . . .

I made this card for a neighbor who is fighting cancer. She is now taking an experimental chemo treatment in another state to hopefully stop the growth. She has a wonderful attitude and a great sense of humor. We went to a cookout in her honor on Friday night. She talked about losing her hair and pulled her cap off to show us. She was laughing every time I saw her that night, which is the way I think she likes it! So, I had this wild, crazy idea today to make her a humorous card. After making it, I showed it to my husband, and wasn't postive she would like it. A neighbor, who is a scrapbooker, said she thought she'd like it. I hope she does. I mean it in the best of ways. The inside says, "And so are you, both inside and out. We're praying for you."
