A Sand-Tastic Day

I found time this weekend to scrapbook, so I made a two pager!  I used to always do two page layouts.  Lately I've done more one page layouts, but sometimes there are just too many photos for one page. These photos were taken at Myrtle Beach, SC in 2008. 

Here are the details of the layout:

Cardstock:  Bazzill and The Paper Company
Patterned Papers:  "Home" stack -- My Mind's Eye
Scalloped Square background:  Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge cut at 11".
Flower border punch:  Martha Stewart.  If you look closely, you will see pearls in the centers of the flowers.  I used the Tulip Beads in a Bottle.  I really, really like this.  And to think I just ordered pearls before I found this.  I may never use them!
Umbrella and child playing:  A Child's Year Cricut cartridge, cut at 3 1/4"
Circle and scalloped circle:  Nestabilities dies
Yellow flower with the "A" on it for part of the title:  McGill punch
Sand-Tastic:  Hippie Chick Cuttlebug font
Day:  You're Not the Boss of Me Cuttlebug font  (I still love my Cuttlebug fonts and am sad that they no longer make them.)

Today I am sharing the card I made for my boss for his birthday this week.  It is nothing really fancy, but I like the bright colors.  I always struggle to make guy cards -- no flowers!  LOL.  The inside of the card said, "for a happy and blessed birthday."

Here's how it was made:

Size:  A2
Cardstock:  DCWV, Bazzill and Core'dinations
Patterned Papers:  DCWV Dots, Stripes and Plaids mat stack
Best Wishes:  3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge cut at 2"
White and black labels behind sentiment:  Nestabilities dies
Banner:  Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art Cricut cartridge, along with white circles at the top of the swags.  (Has anyone else noticed that when you cut the circles, the book shows they have stars cut out of the centers, but the stars do not cut?)  The stars that are on my card are a punch (with Stickles added).
Yellow scalloped border:  EKSuccess border punch
Green glitter gems:  From my stash

Co-Worker Birthday

I made this bright, fun card (which probably wasn't as bright as it shows in these pictures) for a co-worker's birthday.  She loves pink and green.  It was a lot of fun to make.

Here are the details:

Finished size:  5" x 5" gatefold -- I cut my paper 5" x 11" and then scored it at 3 1/2" and 8 1/2" (I think, and I don't have the card here with me obviously.).  I used a border punch on both edges of the 11" strip.    I added patterned paper from a K and Co. stack to both sides.
Cardstock:  Coordinations and Bazzill
Label:  Small label with "Happy Birthday" on it -- Nestabilities; Pink/blue frame label:  Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge cut at 4" and embossed
Rosette medallion flower:  instructions by spottedcanary can be found here on You Tube; circle and scalloped circle on top are punches; cupcake is a chipboard piece I found in my stash that worked perfectly
Butterfly:  McGill punch and then covered in Glossy Accents
Gems/Pearls:  From my stash
Ribbon:  Unknown (satin) -- If you look at the second picture, you can see how the ribbon is not really attached to the bow, but when the card is closed, it appears that it is attached.

Miracles

Did anyone think I had disappeared off the face of the earth?  I was beginning to wonder about myself!  Ha!  Last weekend was a busy weekend.  Then we had revival at church that began on Sunday night and ran through Wednesday night.  Then our modem bit the dust, and a new one just arrived today via UPS.  Our UPS delivery man is lucky I didn't grab him and kiss him!  LOL.  I am such an internet junkie!

I made this card for a Deputy Sheriff from a small county in Virginia (where I am originally from) who was shot in the line of duty a month or so ago.  Two officers were killed, and one other officer was injured as well.  I actually graduated from high school with the shooter (who was shot and killed by the police), and no one seems to know why he went on a shooting rampage.  Anyway, the recipient of this card is paralyzed from the waist down as of now.  But, I heard that he was having some pain in his thighs and he told them they were hurting his feet when they were doing physical therapy.  So, I am praying that God will heal him, and he will walk again.  He is in Georgia in rehab.  He goes to church with my parents, and although I do not know him, I wanted to send him a card.  Thus, this card was made.

Here's how it was made:

Size:  A2
Cardstock:  Bazzill
Patterned Papers;  DCWV Linen Closet Stack
Frame:  Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge cut at 4 1/2" (I think)
I used my Stampin' Up punch for the corners. (I can't remember the name of this punch, and I can't find it in their catalog now.)
I printed the sentiment and cut it with one of my Nestabilities oval dies, and it was perfect with the frame!
Doilies:  Martha Stewart punch, with added pearls and gems.
I also used a Fiskars border punch (that you can barely see) and a little baker's twine.

Welcome Baby

I made this card for a baby shower at work.  The parents have chosen not to find out the sex of the baby, so I made the card suitable for either.  I tried not to put too much pink on the card.  I really have a feeling it is a boy.  We'll see in a month or so if I'm right!

Here are the details:

Size:  A2 -- with the bottom trimmed with a EK Success dotted wave border punch
Cardstock:  Coredinations, Bazzill, and DCWV Glitter
Patterned Paper:  DCWV Dots and Stripes mat stack
The green portion of the front was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder (the one that comes with the baby set).
I added a pink embossed strip in the space for a word.
The oval and scalloped oval are cut using the Baby Steps Cricut cartridge at 2 1/4"
Welcome Baby:  Cuttlebug die
The rattle was cut using the Baby Steps Cricut cartridge at 2 1/4" (I added a little bit of pink Stickles on the handle)

Still Love Birds . . .

I made this card for my parents' wedding anniversary -- 55 years.  Wow!  The inside of the card says, "after all these years.  Happy Anniversary." 

Here are the details:

Card shape:  I used the next to the smallest Grand Nestabilities scalloped circle die.  I think the size of the card ended up being 5". 
Circles:  I cut 3 at different sizes with different patterned papers using the Mini Monograms Cricut cartridge.
Birds/Love Birds:  Straight from the Nest Cricut cartridge cut at 2 1/4"
Flower:  My favorite handmade flower -- see this card for instructions.
Leaves:  Martha Stewart punch
"Still":  Computer generated and punched with a 1" circle punch and added to a 1 1/2" scalloped circle  which was also punched.
Gems:  From my stash
