Just a Note . . .

I made this card for a friend who loves to sing.  He received it in the mail today, so I can now post it.  I tried to make it personal for him, and even tried to use his favorite colors.  Ya know, there are some people that don't appreciate our handmade cards, and there are some who do.  I believe this friend really appreciates them.  It makes it more fun to make them!

Hope you like it.

The inside says, "to wish you a very Happy Birthday!"

Mommy & Me

This is a layout of my daughter and granddaughter in 2008 on a trip to Florida.  I love the picture of my granddaughter on on her Mom's back -- so sweet!  My daughter loved it as well.  She got it printed in black and white and has it hanging in her living room.

The layout was done with this week's sketch from Stuck On U Sketches.  Check it out here!  It's a great sketch designed by Liz Qualman, who's blog can be found here.  I'm pleased with how the layout turned out!

I made the lace flower, and of course used my Cricut for the title, the circle, and the heart.  The flourish is a Sizzix die that I embossed.

My Love For You Continues to Grow

This is the Valentine's Day card I made for my hubby.  After being married over 30 years, my love for him hasn't stopped growing.  The idea for this card came to me in my sleep.  Does this happen to anyone else???

I found the large white glitter dots at Michael's.

The scalloped circle and circle, as well as the tree were cut using my Cricut.  The hearts are a punch.

I also used a Stampin' Up punch for the sentiment.

Hope you like it!

Valentine's Cards for my Daughters

I made these two similar Valentine's Day cards for our daughters.  Normally they wouldn't be this much alike, but I pretty much ran out of time and was frantically making cards on Saturday.  I used papers that I received as a birthday gift from a dear friend that I met on a scrapbooking message board.  Thanks Jane!

The heart shaped doilies came from Michael's.  I thought they were perfect for these cards.

Happy Birthday to my mother-in-law!

This is my wonderful mother-in-law's card.  She loves black and red.  I added some blue and white for a little extra color.  I used my Cricut to cut the sentiment, flower and scalloped circle.

Guess how much the Post Office charged me today to mail this card -- $1.39.  Somehow I can't imagine that was right.  It weighed 1.3 oz. and that should have put it at $.61.  I always add an extra $.20 for the lumpiness.  She said it was considered a package!  She had a template and tried to slide it through a hole in the template.  I wonder how many cards that I've put $.81 worth of postage on, and the recipients had to pay postage to get them.  Unbelievable!

Happy Birthday to my father-in-law!

This is my father-in-law's birthday card. He plays bluegrass music. I found the guitar image online and cut it with a Nestabilities oval die. The green background is a tag from the Cricut Winter Woodland cartridge. I cut the image and then embossed it with my Cuttlebug.  The stars are from the Cricut George cartridge.

The inside says, "To a wonderful guy that “strums” through life with a smile on his face. . . one who we are proud to call “Dad.”
