A Huge Piece of Cake

A great friend and former co-worker is having a birthday this month.  I always try to make a card for her birthday, and I found another great sketch over at Card Patterns.  I like how this card turned out.  I used some wide pink ribbon, and a new Recollections border bunch.  I added some little pearls on the punch.  I also used a Nestabilities die, and some punches to set off the K&Co. cake embellishment.  The inside sentiment says, "Wishing You a Very Happy Birthday and A Huge Piece of Cake!"

Hope you like it!  I appreciate your comments.  They of course make my day.

Here is the sketch:

  3. Lovin' this! I have the sweet treats cartridge and might try to make my own yummy piece of cake--after-all Monday is my birthday--and this cake doesn't look like it has many calories! LOL!

    LOVE your card!

  4. I love your card! May I ask what kind of adhesive you used on the ribbon? The ones I've been using leave marks or bumps! Thanks...

  5. Mary, I hope you come back and read this! I tried to find an email address for you, but was unable to view your profile. Anyway, I use Fabri-Tac a lot for ribbon. It is somewhat stringy, but I love it for ribbon. It holds great, and it doesn't show through. I hope this helps.
