Thanks

I had so much fun playing with the sketch this week over at Mojo Monday.  It is a great sketch.  I have so enjoyed using sketches lately because not only do they make my cardmaking time easier and more fun, but they seem to stretch my creativity as well.  I create cards in a way that I probably wouldn't do otherwise!

We babysat our grandchildren this past week while my daughter and her husband went to church camp with the youth of their church.  My in-laws came down and spent three days with us.  They kept the grandkids Monday through Wednesday while I was at work.  (I took Thursday and Friday off from work.)  My mother-in-law had bottles washed, beds made, the baby fed, clothes washed, and lots more done when I got home in the evenings.  What a blessing!  So, I wanted to make a card to send to them to let them know how much we appreciated it, and how much we enjoyed having them.

The squares were punched using an old Creative Memories punch.  It was one of the first punches I purchased when I started scrapbooking.  It's good to get that stuff out and use it sometimes.  The flowers are a Cuttlebug die from the "With Gratitude" combo set.  The word "Thanks" is from that set as well.  The scalloped circle was cut using the Mini Monograms Cricut cartridge.  The scalloped border is the Martha Stewart Doily Lace Trim punch.  I covered the middle part of it up.  I added two blue brads and a few red ones that my husband took the "legs" off as well (technically making them flat gems).

Thanks so much for looking.  As always, you can click on the picture for a better look.

Here is the sketch:

  4. OMGoodness! This card too is fabulous! You really have such a gift of card design! I'm truly envious of you. I love to color, but when it comes to putting the actual card together, I'd much rather be coloring! LOL We'd make a great team! hugz, Mary
