This is my husband's Father's Day card. Since our daughters are grown, he has told me for several years that the reason he doesn't buy me a gift on Mother's Day is because, "you're not my mother." So, I decided to make him feel really bad on Father's Day. I made this card for him and bought him a gift. He was very appreciative and even said, "well, the real reason I don't get you a gift is because I don't know what to get you." HA! The truth comes out!
This card is my interpretation of the current sketch over at Cardabilities. Here is the sketch:
I made this card by using one of the labels on the Storybook Cricut cartridge for the background. The scalloped circle is also cut using that cartridge. The frog and crown were cut from the Sweethearts cartridge. I used a Martha Stewart border punch and used a punch given to me by a great friend for the sentiment.
The inside says, "Well, at least until a princess comes along and kisses you, and then you turn back into a frog. HA! HA! You're a great father to our girls, and a great poppy! Happy Father's Day."
