Blessed Are Those Who Mourn . . .

This is my second sympathy card today.  I made this one for my son-in-law's Mom, whose father passed away this week (see previous post).  I was going to do an all white card, but the black touch just seemed appropriate.

The card was done from this week's sketch over at cardabilities.  I just found this blog, and I am so excited about it.  I hope to use these sketches a lot.  They are awesome!  And their scrapbooking sketches (entitled, "sketchabilities," which can be found here) are just as wonderful.  I will be visiting them a lot!

The hearts are a Martha Stewart punch.
The flower was made from a scalloped circle punch.  I cannot remember where I found the instructions, but you punch them out, stack them together (3 at a time), cut at the notches, put a brad in, and then fluff them.
The scalloped border was cut from the Cricut Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.
The flourishes were cut from the Storybook Cricut cartridge.

Hope you like it.  If you are inspired, please let me know.  TFL.  Click on the picture for a better look.

  4. Tammy, your card is very beautiful and elegant. As hard as it is to send it to someone who is mourning, I am sure they will appreciate the fact that it is handmade. I love the verse you chose too. Have a blessed and wonderful weekend!
