Our Lil Cowgurl

Yep, I know cowgirl is spelled with an "i." I wanted to use the horseshoe, so I decided to spell it with a "u." These were taken of Ashlyn last year at her daycare. I just love these pictures!

Sympathy Card for Cheryl

I made this card for a friend whose grandma passed away this week (I've had two of them who have lost their grandmother this week). This lady was in her late 90's and full of life until the last few months.

A Paper Piecing Set for eBay

I made this set earlier this week and finally was able to get pictures taken of it so I could list the auction on eBay. I sure hope it sells. Wish me luck!

Sympathy Card

I made this sympathy card for my daughter's boyfriend's Mom, who lost her grandma this week. I posted about her grandfather passing away at age 100 3 1/2 weeks ago. Granny kept saying after he died that she wanted to go home to see Jesus and Grandpa. She got her wish on Tuesday morning. She was 96 (on June 6th).

Bridal Shower Silhouette Card

I realized at 11:00 p.m. that I didn't have a card to go with my gift for a bridal shower I'm helping with on Sunday, so I rushed upstairs to make one. The colors are pink & green, and this is what I came up with. I really love the silhouette bride & groom from the Happily Ever After cartridge (used the charm feature and cut the charm off). The bride & groom are on pop-up dots, but it's hard to see that in the photo. I love these colors together!

A Birthday Card for my Daddy

My Dad's birthday is next week, and here is the card I made for him. I hope his sense of humor is in good working order! The inside of the card says, "Daddy, I guess that makes you the smartest person I know!" Hope he likes it, and thinks it's funny!

Frog Birthday Card for Sam

Now, why in the world would I take this much time to make a birthday card for my 15 year old nephew, who will just look at it, take the check out, and throw it away? I don't know either -- other than I have a hard time buying cards when I can make them. This one was fun too. Everything is on pop-up dots, but you can't really see that in the picture.

Don't Worry, "Bee" Happy Card

I decided to make a card for eBay. I haven't done this in quite a few months -- mainly because the ones I made didn't sell well. I don't know what got into me, but it was fun to make! Hope you like it -- and wish me luck!

Butterfly Birthday Card

I made this card for a friend's birthday -- I hope she likes it!

Congrats Heather!

I made this card for a former neighbor who graduated from high school this year. This girl has always been special to us -- since she lived next door, I watched her grow up until she was about 10. I'll never forget her words when she wanted you to pick her up, "Pick Up" with those arms raised high. Hope she likes it!

Just Us

This layout is from our Labor Day beach trip last year. It was so lonely when it was "just us."

Here is my journaling:

How lonely a beach trip can be -- There were no beach towels thrown all over the outside of the camper, no 10 pairs of sandals sitting around under the awning, only one chair outside, and most importantly, no people. We enjoy the beach, but this was a trip where it was just the two of us. We missed our kids and of course Ashlyn! It was far too quiet without them. We know we will have to get used to this quiet, and we will.

The picture of us with the ocean in the background has a funny story. We asked a friend to take a picture of us on the beach. When he did, we got the picture of us with our arms around one another. When I looked at the camera and saw that you couldn’t see the ocean in the background, I asked him to take another picture and to try to get the ocean in the background. This is what we got! I had to laugh because it looks like our heads are almost floating in the water!

Turnin' 22

I made this layout for my daughter's boyfriend's 22nd birthday. I stared at the papers for 20 minutes and just started cutting. It's a little crazy! TFL!

As You're Recovering . . .

I made this card for a co-worker who recently had back surgery. I will add something on the inside that says, "But at the same time, could you hurry back soon? We miss you and need you!" Hope she likes it. TFL.

Poolin' Off

My latest eBay creation -- wish me luck with this. The last one didn't sell. Things are really slow right now. I know they say it always slows down in the summer, but it's sure hard not to get discouraged!

A Highlight for Me!

I received an email this morning that I was being highlighted on Robin's blog. What an honor! Thanks Robin so much!

Check it out! You could be highlighted too!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

I just finished making this Father's Day card for my Dad. I've always said he's my hero. He was a coal mine owner until he got hurt in the mine about 15 years ago. He would come home at night so black that all you could see was the whites of his eyes. He taught me how to drive a stick shift, he took a front end loader and moved my first home (a used mobile home) to our property, and he even used that front end loader to move dirt when we had a small landslide at that property. Another awesome thing he did for me was when I turned 16, he bought me a car. It only had an AM radio and no A/C, but it was a car! He let me write checks to him every month to help pay for it (I was working a part-time job), and then he didn't cash the checks. He kept telling me that he was going to cash them, but after a year, he said that he wasn't going to cash them, that was teaching me to be responsible, and it worked! What a guy!
This picture was taken of me, my Dad, and my older sister in 1963 on Easter Sunday.
I thank God for my Daddy!

A Father's Day Card for my Father-in-Law

I made this card tonight for my husband's Dad, and I can't say I'm happy with it. I think the picture (which I loved the idea of) is too big for the front of the card. The picture is of my husband, his brother and sister from 1965. I cut it down as far as I could, but it's still too big. But, it's done, and I hope he will like it and appreciate it.

Such a Character!

This is my latest eBay layout. I decided to use my Mickey & Friends cartridge and my Mickey font cartridge for this layout. Those characters sure are time consuming though. I love the bright colors of this. Wish me luck with it!
