My daughter's boyfriend's great grandfather passed away this week at age 100. This man lived such a full life. A funny story about him -- they took his car keys away last summer just before his 100th birthday. He decided he was going to town, and so he got on the golf car and headed toward town. The family found him a few miles from home and tried to get him to turn around. He was determined he was going. They finally called a friend who is a deputy sheriff, who pulled him over and told him he couldn't drive the golf car on the highway. My daughter's boyfriend had to take his truck and a trailer and pick him up and the golf car and take him home! What memories they have. He was driving a tractor as late as last Saturday. He fell and broke his hip on Monday morning, had surgery that day, and passed away in his sleep that night. That's the way to go! Anyway, I made this sympathy card for his family. Hope you like it. It really did look better in real life than this picture!

Happy Birthday Susan!
Today is my sweet neighbor's birthday. This is the card I made for her. I always enjoy making cards for her because she is a scrapbooker and appreciates them. These are her favorite colors, so I had to make a card that reminded me of her. The inside says: "is celebrating a special day. Happy Birthday."

A Must Read Book!
While in Florida this past week to celebrate our daughter's graduation, I read a book recommended to me by my son-in-law's father. The name of the book is "The Shack" by William P. Young. I highly recommend that you read this book. I think it will change the way you think about God. If you decide to read it, or if you've read it, let me know. I'd love to know what you think about it.
You Did It Josh!
The son of one of my best friends graduated from college last weekend. I'm so proud of him, and I know his Mom is as well. I've watched him struggle in school, and things got really tough for a while, but he persevered, and got that degree! Yippee! I made this card for him in his school's colors. Hope you like it.

You Did It!!
Our youngest daughter, Whitney, is graduating tomorrow night with a degree in dental hygiene. We're so proud of her! Her class took their national Boards in March and had not heard the results yet. She has worked so hard to get through this program, and was so worried that she might not pass the Boards. They were supposed to receive notification by mail as to whether they had passed, and they said it would take at least six weeks to get the results. At the school's pinning ceremony last night, the faculty unrolled a banner that read, "You ALL passed your Boards." You talk about a bunch of screaming girls! They were crying and hugging each other. It was wonderful! Thank you Lord for this blessing!
Here are a few pictures I just have to share from the evening, as well as the card I made for her with a little tooth on it. I was afraid she would think the card was too cutesy, but she seemed to like it!

A picture of our entire family, including my sweet in-laws!
No post would be complete without a picture of my sweet Ashlyn!
My girls -- I'm prejudiced of course, but aren't they gorgeous?
